Bauhaus Dessau is a city in Germany, which was founded by the Bauhaus architects in 1926 and named after the German word for "building". In 1933, the German National Academy of Sciences, Arts, and Crafts began to organize regular exhibitions of modern art in a new building that had been designed by Walter Gropius, the founder of the Bauhaus architectural school. This architectural school became a global design leader and is still one of the most influential design institutions in the world.

The Bauhaus Dessau Foundation, which was established in 2000, organizes regular exhibitions of modern and contemporary art, in collaboration with other art museums and cultural institutions. The Bauhaus Dessau Foundation is one of the largest foundations for modern and contemporary art in Germany. The Bauhaus Dessau Foundation is also a member of the International Union of Museum of Modern Art (MoMa) in Paris.
